Austria for a day

Today  was the first really beautiful one weather wise for us on this trip.  Temp was in the mid 70's.  We rose late and Norbert had a long conversation with our host.  Petra went to work early but Richard didn't have to go in until noon so he and Norbert had good conversation in German.

Lindau - the nearest big town to us is near the Austrian border.  We drove across and that in itself was an experience.   When we were here in 1972 there was a check point with a barrier and passport check.  Now it is easier than crossing from the US to Canada.   You just drive through.   This is true now for all the countries in the Euro Zone.

So we drove to Bregenz, Austria to take the Gondala  up the mountain overlooking Bregenz and the Bodensee/Lake Constance.
On way to Austria, snow capped mountains in background

I just liked this house

I get it! I get it!  I get it!

These signs as you enter each town in Germany - Yellow is Catholic and Purple is Protestant/Lutheran

We drove to the next town to look around and have a yummy German dinner.  I may turn into a snitzel!

This is the approach road to where we are staying outside Lindau, Germany
